Description

Saturday July 16th from 2-4pm at the Athens West State Park Shelter House- Athens, OH. This is a wheelchair accessible site.

This is a hands-on introductory soap making workshop. Each person will make their own batch of 6 soaps. The beer in this recipe gives the lather a big boost which means it works well as a shampoo and whole body bar. This session will prepare participants for future workshops involving colorants, botanicals and more if interested.

Limited to 8 people.  Supplies and equipment will be provided.

Soap made during the workshop will take 24-48 hours to set up which means you will not be able to take it home with you at the end of the session.  It will be available for pick up at the Athens Farmers Market in 1-4 weeks. Alternatively, it can be mailed directly to you for $10 to cover the cost of shipping.

For safety purposes, all participants must wear closed toed shoes, pants, a long sleeve shirt, eye protection and gloves while working with the soap making ingredients.  Feel free to bring your long sleeve shirt to layer just during the times you need it.  Eye protection and gloves will be provided.  Please notify if you will need eye protection that fits over glasses.

Participants must be 14 years or older.  Minors must be accompanied by a participating adult.
