Description

The goal of this workshop is to introduce the basic concepts of essential oil blending.  We will work with 15 essential oils to learn about perfumery notes.  Each person will create their own custom blend and make a batch of 6 soaps.  Previous soap making experience is helpful but not required.  

Limited to 8 people. 

In order to allow sufficient time to learn about and work with the essential oils, we will not be covering basic soap making principles, ingredient selection, equipment or recipes as part of this workshop. Other than the essential oil blend you are creating, the rest of the soap ingredients will be measured for you ahead of time. If you do not have soap making experience, we will combine the ingredients for you or pair you with an experienced participant to ensure a safe and successful experience.  Please join us for the Basic Bar or Beer Bar classes if you are interested in learning about the soap making process!

Soap made during the workshop will take 24-48 hours to set up which means you will not be able to take it home with you at the end of the session.  It will be available for pick up at the Athens Farmers Market August 12th.  Other dates available upon request.  Alternatively, it can be mailed directly to you for $10 to cover the cost of shipping.

For safety purposes, all participants must wear closed toed shoes, pants, a long sleeve shirt, eye protection and gloves while working with the soap making ingredients.  Eye protection and gloves will be provided.  Please notify us if you will need eye protection that fits over glasses.

Participants must be 14 years or older.  Minors must be accompanied by a participating adult.
